A vacancy has arisen for a Machine Operator and we are looking for keen individuals to join our busy Moulding department.

Moulding custom rubber seals, gaskets and parts for a wide variety of industrial applications including Formula 1,  Aerospace,  Subsea and other critical applicatons. Maintaining the thorough cleanliness of the tooling and workstation area. Carry out visual self-inspection of work to ensure conformance with quality standards.

Skills/Requirements/Attributes:

  • Must have good eyesight – with or without glasses.
  • Must be physically fit. The operator will be required to carry out basic load/unload activity at the machine, this requires lifting (1 to 2Kg typical) hot (170 degree) mould tools and replacing new material every 2 < 5 minutes.
  • A good understanding of the English language is essential, good reading and writing skills plus simple arithmetic ability and attention to detail.
  • A mature attitude and a willingness to learn and take on a new challenge. A history of job longevity in previous roles is desirable.
  • A positive, disciplined, pro-active disposition is required, excellent attendance and timekeeping.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous machine operating, engineering or related experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given and progress will be monitored over the first 3 months.

Hours:

A 40 hour week composed of 8.00am to 1.00pm (30 min LUNCH) then 1.30pm to 5.30pm with a 10-minute break each half shift – Finish at 12.00 noon on Fridays.  After training overtime will be available.

Pay & Benefits:

Starting rate is £9.50 per hour.  After initial training, the operator will be trained to set-up their own jobs, understanding the reason for and causes of unsatisfactory mouldings and what action must be taken to rectify them.  Following this training period further earnings progression toward the top rate will be based on increased ability and personal performance. Overtime (at the supervisor’s discretion) is generally between 6:00am and 8.00am, possibly Friday afternoon and/or Saturday morning.
